SRINAGAR Attempts are being made to dilute the case of minor rape victim and delay process of justice, a delegation of villagers from Sumbal-Sonawari said Wednesday. They called a news report published in a section of press as fabrication based on lies.
The report quoting Abdul Rehman Mir, the father of rape accused had termed charge against his son baseless and blamed family of the victim and villagers
of concocting the story of rape with an intent to grab the property.
The delegation led by civil society member Sheikh Qawamuddin Shilwati said that attempts are being made to dilute the case and give benefit of doubt to the rapist by spreading such false reports.
“It is an attempt to divert attention from the case. We seek justice for the innocent child. The news report is a ploy to distract people and delay the process of justice, delegation which included Syed Sajjad, Zahoor Ahmed Botu, Ashiq Hussain Dar, Bashir Ahmed Dar, Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh and Muhammad Ibrahim, said.
