SRINAGAR To manage the emerging traffic issues in the city, Traffic Police City Srinagar has intensified its drive against the traffic violators since last one month.
During the month of April, as many as 200 notices have been served to violators for various violations through concerned police stations, the traffic police said in a statement.
Besides, the regular challaning mechanism on the roads, City Police Traffic is resorting to other novel challenging procedures like serving notices to violators through concerned P/S for all the violators whose act of violations are being recorded through various CCTV cameras and other mobile cameras placed across the city.
The Traffic Police City Srinagar said with the improvement in weather conditions, the economic activities across the region are gaining momentum.
It said the arrival of tourist vehicles is also increasing at a greater pace and shifting of Darbar to summer capital is further contributing towards increased traffic pressure on city roads.
As such, in coming days Srinagar City is expected to experience heavy rush of traffic on City roads. Therefore Traffic Police City Srinagar has geared up to tackle the traffic challenges in the city.
Moreover special intensified drives in collaboration with local Police, Srinagar Municipality Corporation and Transport department is also being conducted to tackle the menace of road encroachment by hawkers, wrong parking and other road violators.
Likewise, the traffic police said, to create awareness among the public especially the young generation many traffic awareness programmes are being conducted in various schools and colleges of Srinagar.
These endeavours of Traffic Police City will gain further momentum in coming days, the statement said.
As such general public is requested to cooperate with traffic police to fight the menace of traffic violations on the city roads so as to make the city roads not only safe but also to ensure effective traffic movements on the city road, the statement said.
