SRINAGAR A day before the English BG second semester examination was scheduled, the question paper was circulated on social networking sites.
The examination is conducted by the Kashmir University, the highest seat of learning in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the reports, the paper was shared on social media on the evening of May 8 even as the examination was scheduled on Thursday.
The exposure followed after a student posted on Facebook that he got the English question paper of BG second semester before the scheduled date.
A teacher said confirmed that the paper was leaked before the scheduled timing and that examination department of Kashmir University was immediately informed about it.
A student from Kupwara said that with such episode, the student community has lost faith over the transparency of the examination.
Controller examinations, Kashmir University (KU), Prof Farooq Ahmad Mir said that an inquiry has been ordered and stern action would be taken against those involved in the incident.
An inquiry committee has been constituted. A report has been sought within four days, he told GNS. He said that such incidents are unacceptable and recommendations by the inquiry panel will be implemented in letter and spirit. He said that the inquiry committee is headed by Dr Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, additional controller examination. Rest assured, termination will follow, he added.
