SRINAGAR Twenty four girl students were injured after a school excursion bus met with an accident in Siligam area of Ashmuqam in south Kashmirs Anantnag district on Friday evening.
Reports said that a school excursion Bus bearing registration Number JK03-2711 of Government High School Dudhkul Kokernag, that was carrying students and staff of the school for a picnic skidded off the road near Siligam in Ashmuqam.
The accident occurred when they were returning back from Pahalgam, they said.
In the incident, twenty-four students were injured and were taken to Sub-District Hospital Seer for treatment.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mattan Dr Ashraf Padder said that the health facility has received 24 injured girl students and are being treated upon. He said that the condition of all the injured is stable.
A police officer also confirming it and said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations were taken up.
Meanwhile, Governor Satya Pal Malik directed the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan to ensure free of cost medical treatment to all the girl students who were injured in the accident.
The Divisional Commissioner was directed to ensure all the girl students injured in the accident get timely and free of cost treatment at the hospital they have been admitted, an official spokesman said.
