SRINAGAR Maintaining that PDP-BJP unholy alliance was a big source of alienation among the people in the State, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir appealed the people to rise to the occasion to defeat these parties and to ostracize them as they have always exploited common masses for the sake of electoral gains and to grab power.
G.A. Mir also cautioned the people about the political gimmicks of PDP and other BJP sponsored Parties in the valley, saying that only Congress Party can unite and safeguard the interests of people in all the three regions of the State.
Mir was addressing Elections Rallies in Lolab, Tangdhar and Sumbal in Kupwara and Bandipora. He was accompanied by Senior Party Leaders Haji Ab. Rashid Dar, Gulam Nabi Monga, Usman Majeed, Mohd Muzaffar Parray, Haji Farooq Mir (INC Candidate), Imtiyaz Parray, Irshad Ahmad Wani and others attended by thousands of people.
While addressing largely attended election rallies in Kupwara and Bandipora districts, G.A. Mir hit out at BJP PDP for exploiting people for the sake of votes and reminded the people about the designs of both PDP & BJP, who compromised on their (peoples) mandate after coming into power, all the promises made by them have fallen flat, now they are again trying to mislead people by raking up sensitive issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir State.
If J&K is problem of two and a half districts, why ban civil traffic: Omar to Modi
Mehbooba Mufti couldnt even fight for her fathers respect
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference party vice president Omar Abdullah on Monday asserted that the ensuing Lok Sabha elections provide people with an opportunity to send credible and strong voices to parliament.
Addressing a gathering at Naidkhai Sonawari, party vice president said, How can Mehbooba be trusted with protecting states special status when she was the one who implemented GST in the state? We impressed upon her not to implement it. We raised our voice against the implantation of GST in state. We told her that the implementation of GST will infringe states liberty to waive off taxes including sales tax. We had cautioned them against the implementation of GST but they didnt listen. They also implemented SARFAESI Act and NFSA law in our state. What was left of our autonomy was also surrendered by PDP for the lust of power, adding, Mehbooba gulped down the colossal insult of Mufti Syed made by PM Modi in a public gathering at Srinagar. When Mufti was undergoing treatment at Delhi, PM Modi didnt visit him to inquire after his health. How can we trust her when she wasnt able to fight for the respect of her father? How can we trust her, when she was the one who surrendered fiscal autonomy of our state before center?
Flaying PM for referring to the Kashmir problem as the problem of two and a half district, Omar said, Today I saw PM in a televised interview saying that there is problem in kashmir and the problem is confined to two and a half districts. Unfortunately people at the helm of affairs in centre find it difficult to speak truth. If the issue of our state is confined to only two and a half district, why is it then our national highway connecting nine districts is being closed for civilian traffic for two days? If the problem is just confined to just two districts? Why was this imprudent step taken without giving a thought to the plight which the civilian go through? If the problem is confined to just two districts why doesnt the central government revoke AFSPA then? Why is the central government conducting assembly elections in the state? What is stopping them? We need a strong voice that could represent us in parliament. We have seen parliamentarian as have said that Kashmiri youth are picking guns for a pair of kurta Pajama.

On the last day of election campaign, AIP parliamentary candidate Baramulla, Er Rasheed addressed around three dozen rallies in Uri, Rafiabad, Handwara and Kupwara constituencies and thanked people for their huge love and support during the entire campaign.
According to a statement issued to KNO, Er Rasheed reiterated his appeal to masses and said that AIP has emerged as a strong popular support bases party.
Voting me to parliament is a choice whose dividends entire Kashmiris nation will surely gain. The voters of north Kashmir have got a golden opportunity to show the way out by voting AIP. It would mean beginning of a new era and will be empowering the common man who has been deprived of all his fundamental and political rights, he said.
Er Rasheed took a pledge that he will not let down masses and will represent their sentiments, sacrifices and aspirations without diverting attention from all basic issues.
New Delhi needs to be told that Kashmir issue has to be resolves once for all to help people of entire subcontinent who too deserve a better life and prosperous future, which has been kept hostage since seventy years by creating false narratives on the real problem, he said.
