SRINAGAR A 24-year old youth was injured after shot at by unknown gunmen at Midoora village of Tral in south Kashmirs Pulwama district on Thursday evening.
Muzaffar Ahmad Hajam son of Mohammad Amin Hajam of Midoora, Tral was fired upon by masked gunmen outside his maternal home at Hajam Mohalla at Tral town.
A police officer said that Muzaffar was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors referred him to Srinagar hospital in critical conditions.
Muzaffar according to sources has received two bullet wounds, one in chest and another in thigh. “Muzaffar is running a saloon shop at Tral”.
Soon after the incident a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area to nab the assailants.
Meanwhile, Police claimed to have arrested a militant affiliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen from Bijbehara area of South Kashmirs Anantnag district.
A police official identified the militant as Rameez Ahmad Dar and also claimed recovery of arms and ammunition from him. Dar, the official said, was active since January 2014
