SRINAGAR Aspirants for various posts on Wednesday staged a protest against Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), questioning their credibility as a question paper went viral on social media ahead of exams .
The J&K Public Service Commission issued a clarification, saying in Jammu Centre the Question-cum-Answer Booklet of Range Officers General Knowledge paper to be held on March 25 due to packing in wrong box by printer with seals intact were circulated to some candidates on March 24 and same were collected back by Supervisor after finding that this was not the relevant paper and immediately the other sealed box containing the Question-cum-Answer Book of Essay paper were distributed to the candidates.
After the exams of Essay Paper concluded peacefully on 24.03.2019 in both the Examination Centres, phone calls started pouring in from Srinagar Centre based candidates alleging that the question paper of General Knowledge (compulsory) which was scheduled for 25.03.2019, has been seen by some candidates at Jammu Centre, even few students messaged few questions and parts thereof and same were tallied with the original manuscript and it was found that none of the questions matched fully with the original Manuscript, reads the statement.
The Deputy Controller of Examinations, J&K PSC, Srinagar has taken up with concerned Police Station for lodging of FIR of the incident, the statement said.
A detailed report on the incident has also been sought from Director General of Police J&K &the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
In view of the above, it is for the information of all concerned that the future course of action, regarding the conduct of examination of the optional papers (Botany, Silviculture& Field Crop) of Range Officer Grade-I (Forest) at Srinagar Centre of those candidates who were present in the examination hall and were not allowed to attempt the question paper and the candidature of other erring candidates shall be subject to the outcome of the FIR, detailed report from the Director General of Police J&K and Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.
According to a candidate, the exams for the posts in Sericulture department were to be conducted and the question paper was already viral on social media networks that were provided to aspirants today.
“We had already told the authorities that the question paper has been leaked but they did not listen. When we entered the examination hall it was all the same questions,” Masood Ahmad, an aspirant told a local news agency.
He said that how come the same questions which were doing rounds on social media sites was part of the actual exams and alleged that there are some officials who are leaking the questions.
