JAMMU The state government on Thursday admitted that 25 of the 45 militants who surrendered in Nagrota last year were “fake” and three persons have been arrested for staging the surrender.
In a written reply to the question of a National Conference MLA, Minister for Home AR Veeri on Saturday said in Assembly that on November nine last year a case of surrender of 45 local militants took place at Nagrota in Jammu district.
Subsequently, it was revealed by verification that of the 45 militants, 25 were not genuine, the minister said.
An FIR has been registered and three persons arrested on charges of staging the surrender.
