SRINAGAR JNU student leader Shehla Rashid Shora is all set to join active politics as a member of former IAS officer Shah Faesals soon-to-be-launched party, sources close to her confirmed.
She is getting a central position in the core team. She has been working closely with Faesal over the past few months and was involved in the decision-making process for the inception of the party, they said.
Shehla, 31, a former vice-president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union, is currently pursuing a PhD in Technology and Citizen-State Relations at the premier institution.
The new party will be launched during a function at Srinagar’s Indoor Stadium on Sunday, The Week quoted sources as saying.
”We are expecting around 20,000 people to attend the launching ceremony,” sources close to Faesal said. ”Our party will be named as J&K People’s Movement.”
