Kashmir is heaven on earth but the unresolved dispute and the resultant violence has made it hell on earth. Tourism in Jammu and Kashmir is one of the most important sectors of the economy. It is observed that majority of Kashmiris are peace loving but they are not so vocal due to obvious threats. Tourism problems are more common at tourist circuits besides in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Tourism has now become a significant industry in J&K, contributing enormously to the states economy and providing employment to a large number of people.
Jammu and Kashmir is one of the popular tourist destinations in Asia. The tourism in Jammu and Kashmir offers a wide array of places to see. Jammu and Kashmir need a very special focus for the development of basic infrastructure to attract pilgrims in huge numbers. There are many areas in Kashmir that are rich in natural beauty, but they often lack basic infrastructure and accommodation for tourists. Tourism is the life line of Jammu and Kashmir and all possible efforts need to be undertaken for retaining, maintaining and sustaining it.
India always thought that peace can be made by sincerely addressing the peoples grievances. India must take its cue from those instances and solve the Kashmiri conundrum once and for all. Countries across the world must unite to fight terror so that the innocent people of Kashmir can leave alone in peace and not in pieces. It should also be the responsibility of every citizen to cooperate with government as well as armed force in the way of making terror free and peaceful Jammu & Kashmir. Good governance and good policy will address the problem to a very large extent.
