Medical Facilities Shut At Imam Hussain Hospital Over Violation Of Norms

SRINAGAR Officials on Tuesday sealed three sections of a hospital here over what it termed violation of norms.

Taking cognizance of the frequent complaints against Imam Hussain Hospital, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir swung into action in the best interest of patient care under Jammu & Kashmir Nursing Homes & Clinical Establishments (Registration & Licensing) Act, 1963 Amendment 2006 and sealed three sections of the hospital viz USG, Dialysis & Theatre as the same were run illegally and were not registered as per the Act in vogue, an official spokesman said.

In this regard a committee of officers was constituted by Director Health Services Kashmir vide order no: DHSK/Reg/Legal/747-52 dated 11.02.2019 headed by Dr. Peerzada Fayaz Ahmad, Deputy Director Health Services (Schemes) Kashmir for the purpose of sealing the said hospital units, the spokesman said,

The said hospital had been warned to renew it registration after it expired on January 23. From time to time, the said hospital administrators were informed to fulfill the criteria for renewal of the registration for which inspections were conducted to ensure they improve the facility under norms but the deficiencies found by the inspecting teams were not fulfilled which resulted into issuance of notices too at times. Since the said facility was illegally run in violation of the Act it was deemed fit by the appropriate authority to seal the unregistered facility with immediate effect, the spokesman said.
