SRINAGAR A teenage boy was killed in a mysterious blast at Anderhama area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday late afternoon.
Officials said that a blast occurred inside a shop at around 3:55 p.m. at Anderhama village in Drugmulla in which a 15-year-old Suhail Ahmad Wani son of Sonaullah Wani died on the spot.
The blast, believed to be an IED, exploded with a bang and damaged the shop (general store) as well and created panic in the village.
A police officer of the concerned police station said the investigation has been launched in this regard.
It looks like an explosion, SSP Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar said. We have collected some samples from the spot and sent them to the forensic laboratory to ascertain what exactly the nature of explosive.
He said that body has been taken for medical formalities and it would be premature to say more about the incident till the post-mortem report comes, he said.
