SRINAGAR Seven men from Uri in north Kashmirs Baramulla were killed in a landslide near the construction site of Char Dham all-weather road in Uttarakhands Rudraprayag district, police said.
It said that seven bodies were pulled out from the site and one person is still missing for which rescue operation is underway.
He identified them as Bilal (20) resident of Uri, Sibbeer (30) of Bagna Baramulla, Abdul Rashid (60) of Uri, Imtiaz Ahmad (26) of Handlanga Baramulla, Mushtaq Ahmad (30) of Uri, J Hamid Sheikh (30) of Uri, and Gulzar (20) of Uri.
The injured have been identified as: 55-year-old Altaf Hajam son Ghulam Kadar Hassan, Handlanga village in Uri, Abbas son of Subhan Shekh gram Handlanga in Uri aged 20 years, Altaf Hussain resident of village Mothal in Uri, aged 45 years.
The local administration has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
