SRINAGAR Kashmir University and district administration in Srinagar, Baramulla, Bandipora and Ganderbal have ordered suspension of class work in all campuses and colleges respectively while Central University of Kashmir and IUST postponed all the examinations scheduled on Tuesday.
It is notified for the information of all concerned that the class work at all the campuses of University of Kashmir including Main Campus Hazratbal , Zakura Campus, North Campus and South Campus shall remain suspended on December 18, reads an official statement by KU.
District magistrate Srinagar while ordering closure of colleges said: The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to avoid law and order situation in the district.
Similar statements were issued by district administration of Baramulla, Bandipora and Ganderbal, ordering closure of the colleges in the district as precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, Central University of Kashmir and IUST have postponed all the examinations scheduled on Tuesday.
According to a CUK statement, the fresh dates for the postponed exams will be notified separately
Authorities at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) also postponed the examinations slated on December 18.
A spokesman of the varsity said new dates for the deferred exams will be notified later separately.
He said the class work will also remain suspended at the IUST campus on Tuesday.
