SRINAGAR Police on Monday detained Hurriyat Conference-M Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq after he defied his house arrest and tried to march towards Badami Bagh Army base in Srinagar as a mark of protest against Pulwama civilian killings.
A spokesperson of the party said that Mirwaiz tried to defy his house detention to march towards Badam Bagh Army Cantonment but police personnel deployed outside his Nigeen residence detained him along with his supporters and lodged him Nigeen Police Station.
Mirwaiz on the occasion said thatit has become the routine of Govt forces to vandalise and blow up the houses, beat people in Kashmir in the name of CASO. He says it’s fthe rustration of Indian forces that they have just lost the ar in Kashmir.
