SRINAGAR Authorities in Srinagar have ordered imposition of restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC within the territorial jurisdictions of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Safakadal, MR Gunj and Ram Munshibagh police stations of the district tomorrow (on December 17).
There will also be partial restrictions within the territorial jurisdictions of Maisuma and Kralkhud police stations of the district.
The restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.
Joint Resistance Leaders (JRL) comprising both factions of Hurriyat Conference headed by Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq respectively besides Mohammad Yasin Malikhave asked people to march to the headquarters of the Army’s Chinar Corps at Badamibagh on Monday.
Traffic police issues advisory
In view of security restrictions in Srinagar on 17th of December, 2018, traffic will not be allowed to ply on Pantha Chowk – Sonwar- Dalgate Road stretch. People who intend to travel to South Kashmir are advised to take Bypass Road.
Similarly, People coming from South Kashmir Shall adopt Bypass Road to reach City Centre. People who have to travel from Nishat & adjacent areas to reach City Centre shall adopt Boulevard – Badyari Road.
No traffic shall be allowed to ply on Gupkar Road stretch from Grand Place Crossing.
Commuters are requested to use alternate routes to reach their destinations.
Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted.
