SRINAGAR Reacting to a decision to turn famous Shankaracharya trekking route into a concrete path, former chief minister and vice president of National Conference, Omar Abdullah, on Friday called it a stupid idea.
He said that the temple has already a motorable road.
Taking to a social networking site Twitter Omar wrote: Whose stupid idea is this? We already have a motorable road that goes all the way up to the base of the stairs. @jandkgovernor should reverse this order, restore the trekking path & find out who was responsible for this.
Earlier reports said that the governments forest department is turning the Shankaracharya trekking route in Srinagar into a concrete path.
