SRINAGAR Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma, Friday asked the officers to ensure the timely disposal of public grievances.
He issued these directions at a public outreach programme here which was convened by the Governors Grievance Cell. The officers in the cell met several public delegations and individuals who apprised him with their issues and demands.
Over 18 delegations and scores of individuals apprised the Advisor with their issues and sought his intervention to ensure the time-bound redressal of their grievances.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Khan, Commissioner Secretary PDD, Hirdesh Kumar, Chief Engineer PDD, Chief Engineer PHE, Chief Engineer R&B and various other officers of the Governors Grievance Cell were present on the occasion.
Several deputations from Dal area sought the Advisors intervention so that they could be provided with compensation for the damage caused by the 2014 floods. The delegation also sought Advisor intervention for the rehabilitation Dal dwellers and demanding that instead of RakhArth the dwellers should be shifted to Chandpora, Harwan.
Parents of dental surgeons also called on the Advisor and demanded the creation of posts for unemployed dental surgeons in the State. Stressing for strengthening the health care facilities across the state the Advisor directed the Health and Finance Department for submitting a report regarding the creation of posts for dental surgeons.
A delegation of All Ladakh Residents Welfare Society Srinagar also demanded land for the graveyard in the Srinagar city as carrying bodies to Ladakh creates a lot of inconvenience for them, particularly during winters.
A delegation of Contractors Association of PDD demanded the release of pending payments of works done under APDRP for the year 2011-12.
A delegation of Traders Union of Ganderbal demanded road widening in the area and posting of paramedical staff and MRI machine in the district hospital.
Several delegations of Transporters Association Western Bus Stand, KMD and Sumo Stand called on the Advisor. They were demanding to direct the concerned departments to release their payments for using their transportation services.
A delegation of Retired Employees of Sheep Products Development Board demanded the release of pending liabilities, pension, and sixth pay commission arrears.
Several other delegations raised issues about their respective areas and demanded timely redressal of their grievances. The Advisor after giving a patient hearing to the issues raised by the delegations and individuals directed the concerned for the prompt disposal of the grievances presented to him today. He assured the delegations that their genuine demands will be looked into.
