SRINAGAR A militant emerged unharmed from the rubble of a house which was badly damaged by explosives during a gunfight in Chattergam area of central Kashmirs Budgam district.
Top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed Jatt was killed along with an associate who is yet to be identified in the gunfight that broke out early today in Kuthipora area, police said.
A purported video recorded in the aftermath of the gunfight showed a militant armed with an assault rifle being whisked away by youth who had gathered at the house. The video has since gone viral on social media and other messaging platforms. The authenticity of the video couldnt be independently verified nor police couldnt be reached for a comment over it.
