SRINAGAR Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Friday asked the people to desist from supporting the pro-India leaders. In a statement, Geelani said, Election drama and its actors pretend to be our saviours to fetch them votes in the name of basic necessities, but in reality they are the people who strengthen the unholy bond of slavery, so nation as a whole should desist from any support to them.
Paying tributes to six slain militants who were killed in a fierce gun battle, in Bijbihara, he said that barbarism and brutality of India has crossed all the limits pushing the youth to the extreme and then legalizing their killings.
For the last 71 years, we have seen only the brutal face of India, lived a life of uncertainty, chaos and harassment, have only shouldered the coffins of our dear ones, suffered only death and destruction all around, Geelani said.
He said that this gloomy situation has forced our highly qualified and professionals to fight back and pay the oppressor in the same coin. They prefer to be a rebellion than to live a life of slavery.
Pro-freedom people will always miss the sharp, focused and fertile brains as these shining diamonds and their unparalleled commitment is a great treasure of any nation particularly oppressed and suppressed like us. We are unfortunate that we lose them so early and their dedication and visionary intellect would help to streamline our movement, he said.
Our generation next is fully conscious of the hazards and ill effects of slavery and they are on the forefront of the struggle to liberate their land, he said, adding that the commitment and unparallel sacrifices of youth put a huge obligation and responsibility on not only leaders but common people as well not to even think of any compromise or betrayal.
Meanwhile, as per the program announced earlier by the JRL, protests after congregational Friday prayers were held against the killings in the Valley particularly cold-blooded murder of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mir Hafizullah. Hurriyat Conference leaders and workers including Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Sidiqui, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Khawaja Firdous, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Ab. Rashid Lone, Showkat Ahmad, Arshad Ahmad, Ashiq Hussain and other hundreds of workers and youth held the protest demonstrations at Hyderpora and Rambheelgad.
They said that bullets tear apart every Kashmiri irrespective of age, sex or status and the only difference is that killing of our mujahedeen is owned and celebrated, while as political leaders and workers are killed under the banner of unidentified.
They further said that under the patronage of agencies and forces, these guns have long back been recognized by the Kashmiris and people cannot be deceived by government narratives. Indian military might and its lusty henchmen have miserably failed to contain the pro-freedom sentiment and peoples commitment, that is why they have stooped so low to act upon the kill list prepared 2 years ago. Sincere and dedicated leaders, workers and sympathizers are gunned down in cold-blood in broad-day-light and they deceitfully escape the blame, he said.
