SRINAGAR A shutdown was observed in Kashmir valley on Thursday against the killing of a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mir Hafizullah.
All shops and other business establishments were closed while public transport is mainly off the roads in summer capital Srinagar and other district headquarters of the valley.
Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Hurriyat Conference facts headed by Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq beside JKLF chief Yasin Malik have called for a shutdown and protests after congregational prayers tomorrow against the killing.
Mir was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his home in Achabal area of southern Anantnag district on Tuesday.
