SRINAGAR A special summary revision for Srinagar district will be held on 26 November.
In a communication issued by the District Election Officer it has been informed that the the special summary revision (SSR) of electoral rolls which would have January 1 as the qualifying date would be conducted on 25 November.
This process is aimed at to facilitate required rectification/improvement in the electoral rolls, the communication said.
In this regard, the special camps will be held on 25 November in all the polling stations across the district. All the AEROs have been asked to give wide publicity to this camp at micro level in their respective areas so that maximum people will be benefitted, it added.
The DEO also directed the block level officers (BLOs) to attend the camps in their respective polling stations and submit the progress report well in time as per the prescribed format.
The electoral revision was apart from the ongoing Panchayat elections in the state and the Muncipal polls, which were largely boycotted. Most of the Panchs and Sarpanchs were elected unopposed in Srinagar district while the polling for the Muncipal elections was very low. Many of Municipal ward members were elected unopposed and the polling percentage was lowest ever.
