SRINAGAR Srinagar Mayor, Junaid Azim Mattu has sought that Srinagar Municipal Corporation launch the mobile app with features which can enable people to register public grievances and monitor their disposal.
Junaid issued these directions during a meeting of the IT cell of the Corporation.
He said that the IT officials have important role to play in the smooth functioning of e-governance and termed the IT sector as backbone of the Corporation.
Mattu further said that more initiatives should be taken to increase efficiency of grievance cell.
He further suggested the up-gradation of Android Mobile Application to make it user friendly so that public in general can register their complaints regarding sanitation, street lights and other allied functions of the Corporation at ease.
Junaid said that the establishment of a call centre at the SMC should also be explored. There should be at least fifty people deputed from all the heads of the corporation including those from Enforcement, Sanitation, Building Permissions sections who are equipped with all the required infrastructural and technological support so that full fledge call centre is established within the Corporation.
He underlined that officials should be prompt to take up the grievances through the helpline, official emails and on the social networking sites.
Besides up-gradation of the grievance cell and core deliverable website, the redressal and disposal mechanism should be more efficient and time bound, he added.
