SRINAGAR The Department Of Youth Services & Sports will work in close liaison with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYK) J&K for the successful organization of youth oriented programmes in all the 22 districts of the state, this was stated by Secretary Youth Services & Sports Sarmad Hafeez while speaking to the meeting of State Level Advisory Committee on Youth Programmes in the meeting hall of Youth Hostel here.
He informed the participants of the meeting that the Department Of Youth Services & Sports have taken up many initiatives for Nation building through youth and the Department would happily carry forward every such initiative which would prove beneficial in this direction.
He also said that our Youth should be disciplined, skilled and responsible for leading a successful life and the Department of Youth Services & Sports shall provide every possible help to the Sangathan for successful implementation of their different Youth focused programmes.
S S Kashap, Director NYK, provided a detailed account of the activities, initiatives and future plans of the Sangathan while presenting a detailed presentation about the same. He also highlighted and appreciated efforts of all those Government Departments who been of help to the organization for the smooth and successful conduct of various programmes and activities.
Dr Saleem ur Rehman Director General of Youth Services & Sports Department highlighted the importance of Skill-full youth for a progressive nation. He stated that besides a knowhow about the basic skills for leading a happy life, our youth should be trained in Basic Life Support. He said that all the youngsters who are associated with NYK in one or other way should be trained in BLS as this skill would empower them to tackle any pre-hospital emergency. He also assured the representatives of NYK that the Department of Youth Services & Sports would always offer a helping hand to the organization for the successful conduct of different youth related initiatives.
Project Director Aids Control Organization Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, Director Health Services Jammu Dr Sameer Matoo, representatives of Department Of Health Services Kashmir Dr Abida Kawoosa, Nighat Aalam Deputy Director Social Welfare, District Youth Services & Sports Officers of Kashmir province, District Coordinators of NYK and other senior officials of different Government Departments were also present in the meeting.
