SOPORE Scores of students of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) of North campus at Wadoora Sopore on Monday staged a protest demonstration against the Kulgam Civilian killings.
Scores of students including female students assembled in the premises of the University and shouted anti-government and pro-freedom slogans against the civilian killings, the students held a peaceful protest at the campus to condemn the killings and express solidarity with their families.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being witnessed in parts of Sopore on Joint Resistance Leadership call against the fresh killings in Kulgam.
Seven persons were killed while more than 40 civilians were injured either due to blast near encounter site or use of force including pellets and bullets by government forces.
Pertinently, three local militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit were also killed in a gunfight with government forces at Laroo village of Kulgam on Sunday morning. (GNS)
