SRINAGAR The last quarter final of the Kashmir Invitation Cup took place between ISL franchise team Bengaluru FC and local team LoneStar Kashmir FC at TRC Stadium here on Saturday.
Bengaluru entered the event as one of the pre-tournament favorites. This is their reserve academy team but based on this performance this looked as good as any first team in the country.
Right from the outset Bengaluru FC asserted their dominance on the match and took an early lead in the 5th minute.
Bengaluru displayed some brilliant football throughout the match, with neat interplay passing and tiki-taka football in various areas of the field, tiring the Lonestar players via long spells of possession.
Bengalurus coach Naushad was superb for his tactics, and this performance was only confirmation of all the pre match expectations.
They added 2 more goals to enter half time 3-0 up.
In the second half the dominance of Bengaluru continued and they piled on the misery for Lonestar by adding 4 more goals, to end the match 7-0.
Bengalurus midfielder Altamash Syed capped a fine display with a goal, to earn the Man of the Match award.
Bengaluru will now face Real Kashmir FC in the 1st semi final tomorrow on Sunday, in an eagerly anticipated match where we can expect some top quality football.
