GANDERBAL The tussle between Kashmir University and Higher Education Department has deprived faculty members of Ganderbal College from monthly salaries. From past four months, the 11 faculty members of Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Safapora are without salaries while both Kashmir University and Higher Education Department are busy passing the buck.
We had been appointed as lecturers in the College and were drawing salary on monthly basis but from past four months due to tussle between Kashmir University and Higher Education Department our salaries were stopped as both are not ready to own us, said faculty members to news agency CNS.
They said Commissioner Secretary Higher Education directed us to persuade Kashmir University while the authorities at Varsity are telling us that only Higher Education Department can provide salaries to us. We are in a fix what to do, they said and urged upon higher ups to look into the matter.
