SRINAGAR Students of different polytechnic colleges across Kashmir participated in a seminar entitled Cleanliness is next to Godliness under the program Swachhta Hi Seva, conducted by the government womens polytechnic college, Bemina here Thursday.
Many student speakers highlighted the importance of hygiene explaining why a clean environment is the need of the hour to sustain life in the most viable form.
Sadia Rashid (Govt. Polytechnic College, Budgam, Masarat Jan (Govt. Polytechnic College, Shopian) and Mahrukh Sofi (Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar) bagged first three positions in the seminar
Anoo Malhotra, Director Technical Education, J&K, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave away certificates among the winners and the other participants.
Earlier the students performed a skit which highlighted the dangers of pollution to air, water and soil.
Shafquat Ara, Principal, Govt Polytechnic College, Beminain her Inaugural speech, spoke on the importance of holding such programs.
