SRINAGAR Renovation of many wards in the State Hospital has left many indoor patients in lurch.
According to reports, SMHS authorities have undertaken renovation works in Ward 3 and 7 leaving scores of indoor patients wandering for space and bed. The patients alleged that authorities have not made considerable alternate arrangements for those patients who after being admitted were supposed to be shifted to these wards. They added that each bed in other wards carries 2-3 patients making it extremely difficult for the patients.
The administration meanwhile said that alternate arrangements were in place.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Saleem Tak told this reporter that elaborate alternate arrangements have been made to accommodate the patients of these two wards.
