SRINAGAR Two army personnel were among five persons who suffered injuries in two separate accidents at Uri in North Kashmirs Baramulla district on Wednesday.
Two army personnel and a porter were injured after their vehicle turned turtle in Nawarunda, Uri.
The injured persons,w hose identity could not be ascertained immediately, were shifted to a nearby hospital for the treatment.
In another accident, sources said a vehicle (Eco) lost its control and rolled down from the road in Nambla Uri, resulting in injuries to two persons identified as Sajad Ahmad Mir and Manan Ahmad Mir, both residents of Nambla Uri.
The injured persons were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Uri for the treatment.
Soldier Injured On LoC
The Army claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Wednesday. An Army soldier was injured in the counter-insurgency operation.
At about 5.15 am, Armypersonnel noticed movement along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera Sector, the defence public relations officer said.
On being challenged, the armed intruders opened fire, he said, adding that our troops responded with retaliatory fire in equal measure.
Pakistan Army posts provided cover fire to the intruder, the PRO said.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, an army personnel sustained injuries and was evacuated for medical treatment. His condition is stable.
The search and sanitisation operations were going on when the last report came in. The White Knight Corps is keeping a constant vigil along the LoC.
