SRINAGAR A District Level Committee (DLC) meeting of Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) was held on Friday under the Chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan to settle the land acquisition cases for Rawalpora-Channapora drainage scheme.
The meeting was informed that the 35 kms length of Rawalpora-Channapora drainage project is getting constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 162 crores, is been executed by ERA under Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme (JKUSDIP), and is funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
During the meeting, threadbare discussion were held regarding the compensation in various cases in favour of affected families whose land were came under the project.
It was decided that the acquisition of land will be undertaken on compulsory mode so that the work on this prestigious project does not get hampered at any stage.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Commissioner SMC, VC SDA, Chief Engineer UEED, Director ERA, Collector ERA, Assistant Commissioner and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
