SRINAGAR A 15-year old boy was injured in alleged firing by government forces in Kalaroos area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
Reports said that the teenager namely Danish Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Rubani Lone of Kanipora, Kalaroos suffered a bullet wound after army soldiers allegedly opened fire on a group of protesters.
A police official while confirming the incident said that the soldiers from an army camp at Thayan in Kalaroos opened some gunshots after a group of youth pelted stones on them resulting in injuries to the teenager.
Danish was taken to Sub District hospital Kupwara where from he was later referred to Srinagar hospital in critical conditions, he said.
The official said that a Naib Tehsildar Mohd Ashraf who was posted in the area on magistrate duty also suffered minor injuries while he tried to control the situation. (with inputs from GNS)
