SRINAGAR A militant was killed in an ongoing encounter at Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said that a joint team of army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon at Check Sudal village today in the afternoon.
A police officer said that the gunfight broke out following the joint team of forces intensified searches in the area.
A militant has been killed during the gunfight, he said, adding that the searches in the area is still going on.
