SRINAGAR Reiterating the role of the universities in ensuring the preservation of culture, heritage, ecology and environment, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Wednesday declared to re-designate the old campus of the College of Physical Education Ganderbal as the Green Campus.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir said this while chairing the 3rd meeting of the Planning and Monitoring Board and 22nd Meeting of University Building Committee.
The members of the Planning and Monitoring Board also gave a go ahead for establishing Centre of Energy, Environmental Technology and Disaster Management.

Describing founding Chancellor, Dr. Srikumar Banerjee as the guiding force for the university, Prof. Mir appreciated his role in the development of the university saying that Dr. Banerjee frequently interacted with the students, faculty and scholars and people of Ganderbal.
