SRINAGAR A team from drug controller department has seized glucose without stamping from SKIMS drug store here.
During the raid carried last week, sources said that besides the glucose without stamping of SKIMS supply not meant for sale, the team also seized some calcium medicine which had an expiry date of only a month and the supply was made by some outsider agency. The glucose supply was such which would allow easy sell in the open market after removing the outer covering.
Sources said that this has happened despite the authorities having suspended some lower rung officials in the past. The seizure of glucose and other medicine has elucidated the fact that there is involvement of higher-ups and those involved should be held accountable rather than making some lower rung officials scapegoats from time to time, they said.
Meanwhile, deputy drug controller Irfana Ahmad told GNS that the raid was carried by the team while acting on a complaint.
We have sought an explanation from the concerned authorities and further investigations are going on, she said. (GNS)
