SRINAGAR Government forces on Tuesday detected an IED in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police officer said that the patrolling party of CRPF detected the IED alongside the link road at Kazinagh amidst construction stones.
The Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately called in who later defused the device without causing any damage.
“It was a low-intensity IED weighing about 2.5 kgs,” the officer said.
The officer said that the IED detected has been locally made and it has been established that urea has been used in making the explosive device.
