SRINAGAR Thousands of fasting Muslims across Kashmir marched through the streets after Friday prayers to express solidarity with the struggling Palestinians and for freedom of Al Aqsa Mosque, the first Qibla of Islam.
Raising Free Palestine and Free Kashmir slogans thousands joined rallies after congregational prayers.
Quds Day is also observed here as Kashmir day by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

Hundreds of thousands joined prayers at historic Jamia Mosque of Srinagar where Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umer Farooq addressed the worshippers. Mirwaiz denounced the Zionist crimes in occupied Palestine and expressed solidarity with the resistance there.
A large procession was taken out from Masjid Sajjadia in downtown Srinagar which started from Sajjadabad. People carrying yellow flags of Hezbollah and portraits of resistance leaders shouted slogans against US and Israel and in support of Kashmir’s freedom. The march was led by Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Aga Syed Yusuf.
A similar protest march began after Friday prayers from Hassanabad.
Reports of Quds Day rallies have also come in from scores of other localities in Srinagar and major districts of Kashmir, including Baramulla, Pulwama and Budgam.

In Budgam a massive procession began from towns Imambargah and culminated at the town square. Here Hurriyat leader Agha Syed Hassan addressed the gathering and conveyed his gratitude to resistance for keeping the Palestinian cause alive.
Quds Day rallies were taken out in Magam, Pattan, and Narbal in north Kashmir also.
People from Balhama, Pandrethan, Shalina and other areas in South Kashmir assembled at bypass Panthachowk shouting anti-US and anti-Israel slogans.
A report from the Himalayan town of Kargil said massive Quds Day rallies were taken out through the town after Friday prayers.
Thousands of slogan-shouting people marched through the streets and later burnt the US and Israeli flag in the town square.
