SRINAGAR Green Valley Educational Institute defeated Tahira Khanams school in the quarterfinal of the Kashmir Harvard Inter-School cricket tournament at TRC ground on Saturday.
Green Valley became last team to complete the semifinal lineup of the tournament after defeating Khanams in the quarterfinal clash by five wickets. Green Valley will clash with SP School in the semifinal while as in another semifinal Kashmir Harvard will be against Spring Buds Budgam. Both semifinals are scheduled to be played on Monday.
Batting first, Khanams scored 123 runs in allotted 20 overs for the loss of five wickets. Amir Farooq with 83 run knock was highest scorer for them while as Hurar took two wickets for Green Valley. Ratib and Azam took one each.
In reply Green Valley thanks to the brilliant knock by Azam achieved target in 18th over for the loss of five wickets. Azam with 60 was highest scorer for them while as Q Junaid scored 27. Adnan and Junaid took two wickets each for Khanams.
The event is organized by State Cricket Academy of Sports Council in collaboration with Amblin and it is sponsored by Kashmir Harvard, J&K Bank and Unibic Biscuits.
