SRINAGAR ICS Oranges and ICS Reds Tuesday won their respective fixtures on the opening day of Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar Inter-Group Table Tennis Tournament played at colleges physical education hall.
The tournament was inaugurated by the Director Physical Education Dr. Altaf ur Rehman.
According to the statement issued by the organisers, the first match of the six-team tournament was played between ICS Oranges and ICS Whites which was won by the former by 2: 0. Mohsin and Imtiyaz defeated their opponents in straight sets to help Oranges enter into the semis.
ICS Reds and ICS Yellows locked the horns in the second game of the day which Reds won comfortably with a scoreline of 2-0 in their favour. For Reds group, Aqib and Ashtar outclassed their opponents.
The first semifinal of the tournament will be played between ICS Greens and ICS Oranges and the second semifinal will be played between ICS Blues and ICS Reds. The tournament is being organised by the department of Physical Education of the College.
