SRINAGAR Authorities have decided not to allow Sunday market in Lal Chowk in wake of a rally by ruling PDP. Official sources said that decision in this regard was taken at a meeting by police top brass in the capital.
The market which opens Sundays only stretches from City Centre Lal Chowk to Polo View on roadsides and is a major attraction for customers. Thousands of people visit the market which witnesses turnover of lakhs of rupees each Sunday.
Meanwhile, authorities have also decided to impose restrictions in parts of Old City including the areas falling within the jurisdiction of Nowhatta, Safa Kadal, M R Gunj, Rainawari and Khaniyar.
