SRINAGAR Lt. Gen. Devraj Anbu, Army Commander Northern Command, who has been appointed as the next Vice Chief of Army Staff, called on Governor N.N. Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti here.
Governor had extensive discussions with Lt. Gen. Anbu regarding the obtaining security situation; the losses and serious difficulties arising from the recurring violations of the Cease Fire Agreement from across the IB and LoC and security arrangements for the forthcoming Amarnathji Yatra.
Governor also discussed with Lt. Gen. Anbu issues relating to the ceasefire which was announced on the eve of Ramadan and how it could form the basis of sustaining arrangements in the future.
Governor wished Lt. Gen. Anbu high success in his next crucial assignment at Army Hqrs. Governor and Lady Governor wished Lt. Gen. and Mrs Anbu good health and happiness in the coming time.
Meanwhile, during the meeting, the Army Commander briefed the Chief Minister about the overall obtaining security scenario in the State particularly after the announcement of Ramadhan Ceasefire.
The Chief Minister advised the Army Commander to work in synergy with other security agencies and ensure that the relief and hope generated by the ceasefire among common masses is sustained and carried forward. She also asked the Army to facilitate people during the holy month in whatever means possible.
Lt. Gen. Anbu also briefed the Chief Minister about the obtaining situation along borders in the State particularly International Border and measures being taken for the safety and security of people living in these areas.
