SRINAGAR Police on Friday recovered throat slit body of a man in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Incharge Station House Officer (SHO) Hajin said that some three to four unknown gunmen barged inside the house of Mohd Yaqoob Wagay (38) son of Ghulam Mohd Wagay and abducted him at Gunda Preng village in Hajin at around 1:00 am.
The officer said that the family members immediately informed concerned police station about the incident who subsequently reached the spot and recovered the throat-slit body at a site close to Yaqoob’s house.
Yaqoob, was a mutton dealer by profession and his body was taken to a hospital for all legal medico formalities including the postmortem, he said.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman in a statement issued here said that investigation indicates complicity of LeT militant outfit involving Saleem Parrey a local LeT militant involved in the killing.
A case has been registered and further investigations initiated, he said. (GNS)

Condemning the killing of a civilian in north Kashmirs Hajin in the midst of the holy month of Ramzan, Minister for Public Works and Culture Naeem Akhtar today said the law enforcing agencies have been instructed to ensure that the culprits of the heinous crime dont escape the arms of law.
It is heart-wrenching to note that the brutal and inhuman killing of Mohammad Yaqoob Wagay of Hajinhas taken place in the holy month of Ramazan and particularly when the Centre has announced ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir, Akhtar, who is also the J&K government spokesman, said.
This is not the Kashmir we have cherished and for which some people are fighting for in varied ways. If this trend continues, there will be nothing left to fight for, the Works Minister said, adding that the police has been instructed to investigate the case on a fast track basis.
Expressing condolences with the family of the slain man, Akhtar said the J&K government will take all necessary steps to ensure that the lives of civilians in Hajin are protected at all cost and the culprits of recent crimes in the area are brought to justice.
