SrinagarSyed Taha Kaleem of Class XII has been accepted at the prestigious Georgetown University Qatar on a full scholarship. He is the first student from Jammu and Kashmir to be accepted there. The student had to undergo a rigorous interview with the admission committee as well as qualify a written test to be accepted.
“To all those who aspire to study something different, try to challenge yourself and utilize every opportunity that comes your way”, said Taha, when asked for any advice to students who intend to study abroad. When asked about his journey, he said, “I was really apprehensive before applying to the school as I didn’t know much about it but once I read about it and saw how amazing the school was, I decided to apply.”
Vijay Dhar, chairman of Delhi Public School, Srinagar where Taha studied till Class 12th congratulated him on his success, “I hope that he will serve as an inspiration for other students down the line. His achievement reflects the stupendous efforts put in by the teachers at the school to nourish his ability and catapult him to a position of eminence.” The Principal, Mr Alistair R.A Freese also expressed his delight, “It is a moment of immense satisfaction for the school, and speaks volumes about the dedication and effort put in by staff at the school”
