SrinagarThree youths, one among them cousin of Hizb slain commander Sameer Tiger, were booked under public safety act (PSA), a legislation termed as lawless law by Amnesty International, in Pulwama district.
Official sources said that acting on a dossier by police on Saturday, the deputy commissioner ordered detention under PSA of the three youth of Pulwama district over their participation in protest demonstrations and alleged in stone hurling incidents.
Sources identified the youth as Faisal Ahmad Bhat (21) alias Tiger Son of Farooq Ahmad Bhat of Karimabad Pulwama, Danish Ahmad Bhat (20) Son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Drabgam and Hilal Ahmad Ahanger (21) Son of Ghulam Qadir Ahanger of Prichoo.
While as Faisal and Danish were arrested for working as militants Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and subsequently in stone hurling incidents, Hilal was arrested on stone pelting charges, a police officer said.
The officer said that the trio have been booked under the PSA vide separate government orders as DMK/PSA/18-04, DMK/PSA/18-05 and DMK/PSA/18-05 respectively.
Bhat, according to sources, is a cousin of slain militant commander Sameer Tiger.
SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudhary said the all the three youths were held and accordingly booked under PSA for their anti-national activities.
The triowere found indulging in stone hurling incidents and were instigating others in it. They were also working as OGWs for militants,” he said.
