SrinagarJammu and Kashmir Police XI blanked J&K State Football Academy (SFA) two goals to nil in the 3rd phase of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed (MMS) Memorial Football Tournament played at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground Srinagar, a statement from Jammu and Kashmir Football Association said on Saturday.
The first half of the game was a classic case of missed opportunities from both teams and defence lines showing their mettle to keep goals column blank. The first ten minutes of the second half didnt pan out any different with both teams failing to get off the mark. However, Neeraj Bahdur broke the deadlock to get Jammu and Kashmir Police XI on the board in the 57th minute of the play.
With a goal in arrears, SFA XI upped the ante to find an equaliser but couldnt convert their efforts and urgency into goals. J&K Police XI didnt lose intensity finding the net in the last stages of the game to seal the fate in their favour. Eventually, Police XI won the game 2-0.
