SrinagarThe Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has appreciated the budget presented by finance minister Haseeb Drabu in Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
If implemented, it will prove encouraging for the business community, it said.
In a statement, the KCCI said that budget is encouraging to a large extent in certain sectors provided implementation is done for all the promises made.
The KCCI has appreciated the budget proposal to remove all al politicians and bureaucrats from their boards to make PSUs autonomous and independent of government control, said the statement, issued by its president Javaid Tenga.
While maintaining that the restriction of Central Goods and Services Tax and State Goods and Services Tax to only value-added part is not acceptable to the industry, the KCCI has appreciated the inclusion of tourism industry in power tariff at par with the industry and power amnesty to all industrial sectors.
KCCI has also sought State government to demand pending 2/3rd post flood subsidy from Government of India.
The KCCI has appreciated the governments budget proposal of reviving transport sector, setting up of dry port with DPA of Dubai, education loan interest intervention, creation of carpet villages, subsidy offered to trout fishing industry and inclusion of handicraft units under MSME for all industrial incentives.
KCCI has also sought improvements in sectors such as silk industry, bat industry, walnut, national saffron mission, apple industry, storage, packaging of apple In consultation with it.
Chaya thanks CM, FM for measures proposed to promote tourism, hotel industries
President Kashmir Hotel Association Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya has hailed Finance Minister Yaseen Drabu for proposing measures to boost tourism and hotel industry in Jammu & Kashmir and thanked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for her attentions and interventions in the upliftment of the hotel and tourism industry.
Reacting to the budget presented by Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu ,Mushtaq Chaya the President Kashmir Hotel Association termed the budget people friendly budget that is focused on welfare of both the government employees and as well as people connected with trade and industry in Jammu & Kashmir state. He hailed the Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu for including sops for the traders and business houses hit by unrest in 2016 in the budget presented by him in assembly today.
He welcomed the measures proposed by Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu for the upliftment and expansion of tourism and hotel industry in Jammu & Kashmir and expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for showing keen interest in boosting the tourism and hotel industry the back bone of state economy in Jammu & Kashmir.
