SrinagarA special interactive session by Jamia Millia Islamia University, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Talat Ahmad with faculty members was held at Central University of Kashmir, Nowgam, Campus-III.
Professor G M Bhat, Director- Campus III and Head of Department of Economics introduced the chief guest. Prof Talat Ahmad interacted with all the faculty members present in the campus and discussed the possibilities of MoU between different departments and research centers of the two Universities.
He emphasized on the qualitative as well as authenticated research work for better development of institutions as well as that of human resources. He intimated that our research should be productive and encouraged all the faculty members to exchange their research ideas with reputed personalities throughout the country.
The interactive session was also graced by Prof. T. D. Narang, Professor of Mathematics, GNDU, Amritsar and Professor D S Jamwal, Professor of Mathematics, University of Jammu. Prof. Mehraj ud din Mir, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir, presided over the function.
Professor N. A. Baba, Dean of School of Social Sciences proposed the vote of thanks.
CUK library holds awareness programme
Central Library of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) organized a daylong awareness programme on Electronic resources, Reference management and Deterring plagiarism at Nowgam-I academic block here on Wednesday.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din Mir, Librarian, Dr. Abdul Majid Baba, Director, Research and Development, Prof. Abdul Gani, Accounts Manager, Research Solutions Sales, Elsevier, Ms. Farah Siddiqui, Customer consultant, Mr Vishal Gupta and research scholars were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir said that this is another workshop for research scholars, held by the varsity after a marathon two-week workshop organised by the Department of Management Studies. He added that the research scholars who participated continuously in these workshops would now train their junior scholars.
Director R&D, Prof. Abdul Gani, congratulated the Library staff for organizing series of such workshops. He said that today we are living in an information world and scholars can get any information within no time.
Earlier in his welcome address Librarian, Dr. Abdul Majid Baba introduced the theme of the workshop and said the aim of the workshop is to enlighten the research scholars and faculty members about the evolving trends in research methodology.
Accounts Manager, Elsevier, Ms Farah Siddiqui said that it is the job of our organization to provide research solutions to scholars across the country. She said that during technical sessions, they will explain as to how the technology can be used for research.
Assistant Librarian Ms. Huma conducted the programme proceedings and proposed the vote of thanks.
