KupwaraTwo youth were killed in a road mishap at Sadhna top enroute border town Karnah in Kupwara district late last night, police said today.
Another youth who was aboard the private car that met accident was critically injured and has been shifted to Srinagar for treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Syed KhadamHussain 27,and Syed IftikharHussain 28, both residents of ChamkoteKarnah.
The accident took place around 10 PM last night near high altitude Sadhna top when the three were on their way to Karnah from Srinagar.
“It appears that the driver while negotiating a blind curve lost control over the car and it skidded off the road. The vehicle fell down in a deep gorge resulting in death of two youths including driver on the spot,” a police official said.
“The accident took place near a BSF camp and soldiers rushed to the accident site to rescue the victims but could not save them as two of them died on the spot,” he added.
Syed Faisal 24, a resident of KandiKarnah who was critically injured has been shifted to JVC hospital Srinagar.
Border town Karnah is around 175 Kms from Srinagar and a high altitude accident prone road from Kupwara is the only surface link connecting this town with rest of Kashmir. (Kashmir wire).
