SrinagarThe third season of GAIL-Indian Speed Star was held Tuesday at Srinagars Bakhshi Stadium. According to the statement from the organisers, Ashok Koul State General Secretary, JK Bhartiya Janta Party who was the chief guest on the occasion inaugurated the event.
The statement quoted Koul as saying that, the aim of Prime Minister Narender Modi is to create identify, nurture the hidden talent of Athletes which will bring honour for India.
According to the statement, as many five hundred fifty 550 students from 29 schools participated in the track events (100m, 200m & 400m)
The NYCS has a robust plan for conducting these events in 750 districts to create a pool of athletes, the statement read.
Yudver Sethi State vice president BJP also spoke about the importance of these events.
Mohd Anwar Khan State Coordinator NYCS said that the reason to launch this program is to identify, select and nurture the hidden talent in track events.
