SrinagarFrom past two months, the PHE employees at Mechanical Division South Awantipora have not received their earned salaries-courtesy, the tussle between a contractor and the department.
These workers who had arrived here in Press Enclave Srinagar under the banner of J&K PHE Employees and Workers Association led by Mir Tariq Pampori said that on some payment issue, a tussle between a contractor and the Divisional office has been going on from past few months. The Contractor has approached court and managed to seize all the accounts ofemployees working in the Division. It was a matter between the contractor and the Divisional office while we have been facing the brunt, they told news agency CNS.
Mir Tariq Pampori said over 2000 employees have been deprived of their salaries from past two months. We have been facing hardships while the department is showing no interest to get the issue settled, he said.
The employees threatened to close down all the water supply schemes from Nov 7, if their issue is not addressed.
